A native of South Pasadena, CA, Mikey Sabatella began his music career in 1998. After a few years of live performances and demo recordings, Mikey formed a solid line-up of dedicated musicians and began touring the United States. From 2001-2007, his band, Limitpoint, had completed 39 national tours, accompanying bands like Save Ferris, Face to Face, Story of the Year, The Ataris, Sparta, and more. In 2002, they were featured on the Warped Tour and Ford Focus’ Californopia Tour with Unwritten Law and Something Corporate, recorded three records, and was on MTV’s Dew Circuit Breakout. The band members later decided to reinvent themselves with a new harder sound, and they changed the band’s name to The Spencer Outfit and toured throughout Japan and the U.S. until 2008.
In 2009, Mikey embarked on a solo career, writing music that was instinctual and very natural; his strongest influences coming from musicians like Eddie Vedder, Link Wray, Ben Harper, and Andrew Bird. “Lyrics would just flow out onto paper and I wouldn’t re-think them,” Mikey shares. “Sometimes when I listen back, I feel like it’s the first time I’ve heard them.”
Mikey’s debut solo album, “A Life In The Day,” was released in May 2010. His second album, “A New Horizon,” was released the following year. His style is moving toward a more acoustic, authentic sound, with music that originates from a very raw, personal place. He is currently working on his third album, a compilation of acoustic rock.
